Commemorating National OHS Month, PT PRI Organizes Various Activities Including Blood Donation

PT Phoenix Resources International (PRI) organized a series of activities to mark the 2026 National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Month.

This annual observance reflects PRI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening a safety culture across its operational areas.

The activities took place from January 23 to February 14, 2026, involving all PRI employees as well as the company’s partners.

As widely known, the theme of the 2026 National OSH Month is “Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative National OSH Management Ecosystem.”

According to Teuku Herwinta, Manager of Loss Prevention and Control at PT PRI, the theme serves as a strategic foundation for enhancing the company’s OSH management system, reinforcing regulatory compliance, and encouraging active participation from all employees in creating a safe and healthy work environment.

As a company operating in the pulp industry with high operational risks, PT PRI places safety as a core value in every work activity.

This commitment was reflected through various educational and participatory competitions held during the 2026 National OSH Month, including housekeeping competitions, hazard finding, fire bridge drills, and safety quizzes.

Additionally, a blood donation drive was conducted in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Unit of dr. Jusuf SK Regional Hospital in Tarakan, involving hundreds of PRI employees and partners. As a result, a total of 140 blood bags were successfully collected through this humanitarian initiative.

“The implementation of OSH is essential and continuous, as it represents a strategic investment for the company,” emphasized Teuku Herwinta.

He further highlighted that effective OSH implementation requires strong commitment from all levels, from top management to field workers.

The 2026 National OSH Month at PT PRI concluded with a closing ceremony attended by the Mayor of Tarakan, dr. Khairul, represented by the Deputy Mayor, Ibnu Saud Is, who served as the ceremony inspector.

In the Mayor’s remarks, delivered by the Deputy Mayor, appreciation was expressed for the company’s commitment to promoting a strong OSH culture.

He stated that every worker has the right to work safely and return home in a healthy and secure condition.

“Therefore, the implementation of OSH must become a shared culture and commitment, from leadership to all workers on the ground,” he added.

Also present at the ceremony was Asnawi, Acting Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office of North Kalimantan Province.

To date, PT Phoenix Resources International has successfully passed the Occupational Safety and Health Management System SMK3 certification audit conducted by the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in October 2025, recognizing its effective implementation of occupational safety and health practices in the workplace.
